9.04 RC-Installation zerstört Festplatte?

Hallo!

Hab grad mal probiert 9.04 RC zu installieren, ging soweit erstmal alles gut; ja ja nein nein die-und-die-Platte –> installieren!

Hatte noch ein Hardy auf /dev/sda1 (20GB) und ebenfalls 20GB Platz auf /dev/sda2.
Hardy auf sda1 ist eigentlich mein "Produktiv-System" gewesen... 🙄

Jedenfalls danach fing das Partitionsprogramm an und sagte: Partition sda2 mit ext3 für / formatieren.
Kurz danach: Fehler beim Formatieren.
....und sprang zurück zum Partitions-Teil der Installations-abfrage...

Is ja soweit kein Problem dachte ich, passiert ja jedem mal ein kleines Malheur, machen wir's einfach nochmal. Nur daß bei diesem 2.Mal meine erste Festplatte (!!!) komplett weg war. 😲

Nach einem Neustart versicherte mir mein Bios, daß keine startfähige Partition vorhanden sei, also wieder Live-CD. 😢 GParted wollte mir weismachen, daß diese Platte gar nicht erst existiert... 👿

Habe dann uu.de durchstöbert und einen Tip gefunden –> Parted Magic Live-CD
Hab ich mir auch gleich runtergeladen, gebrannt und gestartet. Ergebnis: ein paar versiertere Programme erkennen zwar die Existenz dieser Platte an, aber haben null Zugriff (Lese- / Schreibfehler) ergo: Diese Platte ist leer bzw. kaputt.

Jetzt kommt meine Frage:

Ist es möglich, daß das Install-Programm einen tatsächlichen Schaden an der Platte verursacht hat, oder ist einfach nur im selben Moment als die Partition formatiert werden sollte, die ganze Platte abgeraucht? Wär ja n schöner Zufall! Naja, die Platte ist ja auch nicht mehr die Jüngste, so 6-7 Jahre hat sie auch schon auf'm Buckel...

In Hoffnung auf Eure Hilfe noch ein paar Dateien aus'm home-Verzeichnis retten zu können...

Zufälle passieren. Das Installationsprogramm ist sicher nicht das Grund für den Hardwaredefekt.

Naja, die Platte ist ja auch nicht mehr die Jüngste, so 6-7 Jahre hat sie auch schon auf'm Buckel...

Ist ja auch ein stolzes Alter.

Hab übrigens grad mal die betreffende Platte ausgebaut. Die ist furchtbar heiß!!! Ein weiterer Hinweis auf einen SuperGAU... das Wochenende fängt ja gut an... 😢

Hallo

Also, das heißt das die Festplatte gar nicht mehr erkannt wird?

Listet das BIOS die Platte noch? Wenn Nein, ist das ein Hardware defekt. Wenn ja poste mal "dmesg"

Erkennen andere Distributionen (etwa Knoppix) die Festplatte? Kannst du sie in ein USB Gehäuse stecken?

Nee, USB-Gehäuse hab ich nicht.

Naja und Knoppix hat hda erkannt aber auch nicht den geringsten Zugriff. Am nächsten bin ich mit PartedMagic Live-CD gekommen, aber auch nicht viel weiter, wie gesagt...

Beim Knoppix konnte ich immerhin ein Symbol auf dem Desktop finden. Knoppix zeigt ja normalerweise alle verfügbaren Partitionen als Desktopsymbol an, welches man dann mit rechtsklick mounten etc kann. In diesem Falle hat Knoppix mir immerhin ein Symbol gezeigt mit der Kennung "hda". Was natürlich gleichzeitig bedeutet, daß die Partitionen nicht erkannt werden konnten. Viel tiefer komm ich dann mit meinem Wissen auch nicht, zumal "fdisk -l" bei Knoppix nicht funktioniert...
Der Unterschied zu Ubuntu ist der, daß Ubunutu nichtmal hda irgendwie registriert, bzw hdb zu hda macht.

Was die PartedMagic-Live-CD angeht, die hab ich heute das erste Mal ausprobiert und hab mich ganz schön gewundert, was das für'n System ist. furchtbar abgespeckt. Die meisten Befehle, die ich so kenne funzen nicht und es gibt auch nur so an die 20 Programme überhaupt. Darunter waren aber testdisk und ddrescue. Und hier hat testdisk die Platte gefunden, richtig erkannt (Größe, und so Sachen) aber beim Versuch die Daten zu lesen (Partitions-Image erstellen) sofort bei den ersten Bytes Lesefehler angezeigt...

fdisk -f funktioniert bei Knoppix.

Versuch mal mit

dd_rescue -A /dev/hda <Backupdatei>

ein Backup der Platte unter Knoppix. Vorsicht, das Image wird wird so groß wie die Quellfestplatte.

Da es offensichtlich nicht selbstverständlich ist: Bei ALLEN Befehlen die du versuchst, Befehl und Ausgabe hier posten! Ich kann NICHT hellsehen!
