Hi, i'm sorry about my english is very bad, but i don't know german.

My name is Tomás and i'm from a GNU+Linux users group called gulBAC, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. And we are looking for a good web system. When i entered this page, my first thought was "This is what we need. This is superb". But hours ago, i did realize that there's not any link to download the code. Will you share this python code to others? in what licence? can you give me an url to download, i don't understan german.

Yes, we use our own software „Inyoka“ that was developed by our webteam. They will eventually open the source. But currently there is still a lot of work to do in terms of stability, quality and documentation. Thus the code is not available for the public, yet.

Inyoka is not open sourced yet. That's because it is strongly adjusted to ubuntuusers.de. All special stuff that we need here is hard-coded, it only runs in German, etc. But we are working on that and we will release it as Open Source.

In 2005 (afaik), some members of the webteam have already tried to write a new software (Pocoo) for ubuntuusers to run with. They made it public right away, they made the code very custom, and, well, it has never become ready to use (there are however some parts of it which became independent libraries (jinja, werkzeug and pygments) that we are using for inyoka) So this time we did it the other way around: We told nobody about inyoka, we wrote it just for ubuntuusers. That way we could make it usable within just about 9 months. When they released pocoo (though it was not even alpha state) lots of people tried to install it, failed, and annoyed the developers with questions. So as long as it is not at least a little easier to install, we won't make it public to everybody. But if you want to help, contact us on #ubuntuusers-webteam ☺

Ich habe fruehere Antworte gelesen, und sie sind 6 Monate alt. Haben sie etwas mit Inyoka gemacht? Wann wird Inoyka ein Open Source Projekt werden? Ich moechte ein website starten, und Inyoka ist die besste Soluzion fur es.

Ich bin aus Serbien, deshalb entschuldige fuer schlechte Deutsch.

Wenn Inyoka OpenSource wird, dann wird dies sicher über unsere Nachrichten-Sektion Ikhaya bekanntgegeben. Noch ist es aber nicht so weit.

Die Frage bleibt dann noch, ob Inyoka das richtige für deine Webseite ist … Inyoka ist für eine Plattform mit mehreren tausend Benutzern ausgelegt. 😉

Ja, ich weiß das. Wenn ich mein website starte, ich werde nicht so viel Besucher haben, natürlich. Aber wer weiß was wird in Zukunft passieren. ☺

Ich mag Inyokas Design sehr und das ist die Hauptgrund warum ich möchte Inyoka zuwählen. Es sieht sehr schön und es ist sehr funktionell.

Oh oh, ich denke du wirst dann mit Inyoka nicht glücklich. Die Software ist für große Communitys wie diese ausgelegt, und installiert sich nicht mal eben auf einem gemieteten Webspace. Und Afaik wird gerade das Design eben nicht OpenSource...

Ah, so. ☹ Dann würde ich etwas andere zufinden. Vielen Dank für Tipps. Es half mir sehr.

Es gibt aber auch Leute/Communitys für die Inyoka eine große Erleichterung darstellen würde 😉 Fände es toll wenn ihr mal wieder einen Blogeintrag o.ä. machen würdet, wie weit es fortgeschritten ist und was noch ansteht.

Ich werde Inyoka release warten und dann sehe wie ist mit Inyoka arbeiten. Wenn es gefält mir und finde ich es einfach zu bedienen, werde ich sie verwenden. ☺ Bis dann, spiele ich mit Joomla. ☺
