ich weiss nicht ob ich hier richtig bin, aber ich versuch's einfach mal:

weil mein altes Acer Netbook infolge Wackelkontakt nicht mehr sehr einsatzfreudig ist hat mir meine Frau ein Trekstor Surfbook A13B CO geschenkt. Leider mit Win10 im S Modus, zusätzliche Software aus der Open Source Gemeinde wie z.B. LibreOffice kann man nicht installieren, aber mit einen Surfstick wäre es passabel gewesen. Nur liegt mir das >Win10 einfach nicht!

Ich würde lieber das mir gewohnte Ubuntu Mate installieren.

Frage: kann man das auf einem Netbook mit einem Speicherchip von 64GB (erweiterbar mit SSD auf 512 GB) installieren? Wenn ja, was muss ich beachten und wie geht man dabei geschickterweise vor? Ich habe das ISO meines Ubuntus auf einen USB Stick mit den Bordwerkzeugen von Mate kopiert. Kann ich das nun einfach verwenden obwohl das Trekstor mit UEFI bestückt ist?

Das wird wohl für mich ein riesiges Proekt werden. Ich bin zwar schon seit Ubuntu 9.4 ein ausschliesslicher Ubuntu User, aber seltenst auf der Konsole, immer via GUI. Meinst ihr dass das gut geht? ☺

Erstelle einen Stick mit Ubuntu und versuche davon zu booten. Das ist dann schon die halbe Miete.

Also ich habe es nun mal mit dem Stick gestartet, es hat korrekt gebootet, die Performance war auch nicht schlecht. Aber die Bildschirmauflösung konnte ich nicht korrekt einstellen, das WLan war nicht vorhanden, auch nicht über "zusätzliche Treiber" aktivierbar (no drivers found), und die Mauszeigerbewegungen über das Scratchpad waren eher müde und nachhängend. Ohne WLan nützt ein Surfbook ja wirklich nichts, oder? Was nu?

Sagt Dir das über das WLAN Teil aus das hier verbaut ist? Weisst Du ob es einen Linux/Ubuntu-Treiber für das gibt? Wenn ja, wo kann och den holen und wie mache ich das am besten?

Ich habe keinen USB-WLAN-Stick, das WLAN sollte auf der Platine sein, welcher Adapter ist mir unklar

Ich habe den SecureBoot ausgeschaltet da ich sonst keine andere Software installieren konnte, das Surfbook war im S mode, ich habe alle die Administratoreneinträge rausgeworfen, sollte also gut sein.

Ich habe mich mit dem Gerätemanager nicht anfreunden können, ich wusste nicht genau wo ich das nachlesen konnte. So habe ich bei Trekstor angefragt und den Bescheid bekommen, dass der WLAN Chip der "Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-3165" ist. Reicht das aus?

Nun muss ich zu dem noch den passenden Linux-Treiber finden, und dann kann ich das Windows endlich mit Ubuntu ersetzen! Aber zuerst muss ich Windows noch sichern (Rescue CD erstellen), ich weiss noch nicht wie man das machen muss, aber eben....

Wenn du ausreichend Festplattenspeicher zur Verfügung hast würde ich Windows behalten und nur die Partition verkleinern. Zeige mal

kennt Windows 10 nicht. Aber das Surfbook hat einen 64GB Chip, davon sind noch 33.5GB gemäss Windows frei, sollte schon ausreichen für Ubuntu Mate. Zumal man noch einen zusätzlichen SSD Chip einsetzen kann mit bis zu 512 GB Platz

Update: der Link ist nicht OK, Firefox sagt mir dass die Seite nicht gefunden werden konnte
