Vor kurzem bin ich auf Ubuntu 10.10 von Vista umgestiegen. Ich bin total begeistert. Selbst mein O2 prepaid Surfstick HUAWEI E1750 funktioniert ohne Problemen (eine Anleitung dazu habe ich im Netz gefunden). Was ich vermisste, war ein kleines Programm, um ein Konto aufzuladen bzw. ein Internettarif zu wählen. Ich habe nicht passendes gefunden. Deswegen habe ich ein Skript geschrieben (Python+GTK). Ich hoffe, das es auch für andere nützlich wird.

Die Beschreibung steht in der Readme-DE Datei. Skript selbst kann man hier herunterladen.

Für die Anregungen, Vorschläge, und Anmerkungen stehe ich gern zu Verfügung.

Wow, sowas suche ich schon länger. Umtsmon sieht nämlich ziemlich mies aus und funktioniert dazu bei mir nicht, warum auch immer. Und so ein komisches Vodafone Tool kommt mir nicht drauf. Aber das Tool funkioniert bei mir auch nicht, nach einem Klick auf "Read all SMS" bekomme ich die Meldung "Cannot connect to the USB modem!". Habe aber auch einen o2 E1550 + Alditalk(Eplus), funktioniert das Tool nur mit E1750 und o2 Netz?

Ansonsten würde ich mir vielleicht noch eine etwas hübschere Öberfläche mit etwas mehr Platz zwischen den Buttons und den Rändern wünschen, das sieht alles so gequetscht aus. 😉

ttyUSB0 war die falsche Gerätedatei, mit /dev/ttyUSB1 tut das einwandfrei. Vielleicht kannst du eine eine automatische Erkennung einbauen?

Ansonsten freue ich mich auf zukunfütige Versionen und melde mich als Tester. 👍

Aus meiner Sicht ist der jetzige Funktionsumfang, also SMS Empfangen und Senden und Befehle absenden schon ausreichend. Allerdings habe ich nicht gerade immer die passenden Befehle zur Hand. Vielleicht kannst du, ähnlich wie bei Mobile Partner, so ein Auswahlmenü einbauen? Das ganze sah so aus, als ob sich die verfügbaren Optionen beim Provider abfragen lassen. Man bekam ein Auswahlmenü vorgesetzt, z.B. so:

1. Internet-Flatrate buchen
2. Telefon-Flatrate buchen
3. Guthaben abfragen

Mit einer Zahl konnte man die Optionen dann auswählen.

Vielleicht kannst du ja auch sowas basteln? 💡

Aus meiner Sicht ist der jetzige Funktionsumfang, also SMS Empfangen und Senden und Befehle absenden schon ausreichend. Allerdings habe ich nicht gerade immer die passenden Befehle zur Hand. Vielleicht kannst du, ähnlich wie bei Mobile Partner, so ein Auswahlmenü einbauen? Das ganze sah so aus, als ob sich die verfügbaren Optionen beim Provider abfragen lassen. Man bekam ein Auswahlmenü vorgesetzt, z.B. so:

1. Internet-Flatrate buchen
2. Telefon-Flatrate buchen
3. Guthaben abfragen

Mit einer Zahl konnte man die Optionen dann auswählen.

Vielleicht kannst du ja auch sowas basteln? 💡

Solche Auswahlmenü kommt nicht von mir, sondern von dem Provider selbst. Man muss die entsprechende USSD-Codes kennen. Laut http://www.prepaid-wiki.de/index.php5?title=ALDI_TALK gibt es folgende Codes:

Wegen automatische Erkennung. Ich habe keine Lösung gefunden, die Leute konfigurieren ein festes Link, und geben es an Skript weiter.

Man muss schauen, wie ein Stick sich im System meldet, und es im Skript eingeben.

Habe dein Script herutergeladen und entpackt. musste nix einstellen. Konnte dadurch auch wunderbar sms empfangen und das Prepaid-Guthaben aufladen. Bis zum Neustart. Denke mal der stick hat sich nun anders angemeldet. aber wie finde ich herraus was ich z.b. in feld 1 verändern muss, damit das script den stick findet?

Kann man überprüfen, welsche Schnittstellen sind da: ls /dev/ttyUSB* Sind sie vorhanden?

Was kann noch sein, das der Stick automatisch in Ubuntu-Netzwerk als neue Netzwerk angemeldet wurde. Dann ist er besetzt.

schön das Du Dich umgehend meldest ☺, Ich weiss leider nicht wie man die Schnittstelle prüfen kann.

Habe jedoch schon, Probleme mit dem Netzwerkmanager. Muß den Stick mitunter bis zu 3x mit passwort anmelden weil er von alleine offline geht. Momentan bin ich auch zusätzlich mit meinem Home-Netz "Drachenfunk" per W-Lan verbunden. Auch das könnte für Konflikte sorgen.

Ich vermute, das den Stick bei Dir automatisch angemeldet wird. Man kann versuchen, den Stick erst nach dem Neustart reinzustecken.

Das Problem hatte ich auch mal. Allerdings ging das von alleine Weg, soweit ich weiß. 🙄 Hast du usb-modeswitch installiert?

Hey super! So ein Tool habe ich gesucht!

Bisher habe ich unter Linux immer vermisst das Guthaben abzufragen und auch komfortabel aufladen zu können. SMS senden und Empfangen finde ich auch genial!

Da ich selbst gerade anfange mich mit Python einzuarbeiten und zu erlernen werde ich mich mal mit deinem Programm etwas beschäftigen.

Ich hätte für die Zukunft noch ein paar Ideen, falls Interesse besteht:

• Autokonfiguration (siehe Beitrag weiter oben) - Dazu ist massive Hilfe der Nutzer nötig damit die nötigen Daten dafür zusammengetragen werden können...(Habe selbst hier ein Medion und ein O2-Stick zu liegen)

• Integration in die Benachrichtigungsanzeige und Popup bei SMS Empfang! (So Ähnlich wie bei dem Popper.py-Projekt Emailbenachrichtigungsprojekt!) 😬 Soweit ich das verstanden habe kann man nur SMS Empfangen und Senden solange man nicht über den gleich Stick im Internet angemeldet ist. Allerdings zuhause im WLAN wäre es nutzbar! (Also auch Erkennung nötig ob der Stick gerade im Internet angemeldet ist !) Vielleicht könnte man ja auch beim Rechnerstart automatisch das Guthaben abfragen wenn der Stick im Rechner eingesteckt ist und das in der Benachrichtigungsanzeige mit eintragen!

• Aufteilung in drei Programme: GSM-Prepaid-Control (Aufladen, Guthabenabfrage), GSM-SMS-Messenger (Senden und Lesen von SMS) und der SMS-Popup-Deamon (Benachrichtigen bei neuen SMS).

• PIN gehört in die Digitale Brieftasche

• Vorbereitung der Lokalisierung

• Wiki-Eintrag bei ubuntuusers.de

• PPA erstellen und in ein DEB-Paket mit Abhängigkeiten packen.

• Mark Shuttleworth überzeugen, dass das in die Distribution gehört 😛 😇

Es sind also noch jede menge Probleme zu lösen, besonders wenn ich an die vielen verschiedenen Modemtypen denke, au weia...ich hoffe mein Gehirnschmalz reicht dafür aus. 🙄

Ideen habe ich noch mehr, aber ob das realisierbar ist wird die Praxis bzw. Lust dazu zeigen...
