also, hab die nvidia treiber erfolgreich installiert, doch wenn ich nun zb et satrte, stürzt das komplette system ab -.- ist bisher bei jeder distri so gewesen -.- sit, was mache ich falsch? hab den treiber von nvidia.com und in der XF86Config für Graka den Treiber auch auf "nvidia" geändert.

wenn ich das so richtig sehe, dann ist v4l (Video for Linux) dafür da, dass TV-Karten mit Linux funktionieren (zumindest hab ich im Zusammenhang mit v4l nichts anderes ergoogeln können).
Kann man also sagen, dass Benutzer ohne TV-Karte diesen Eintrag auskommentieren können?

Auf channel.debian.de hab ich folgendes gefunden:

hmm ich denke mal, dass dies für rechner mit einer nvidia gk nicht benötigt wird, oder es nicht wirklich wichtig ist.

Ich hab noch ne andere Frage.
Ich wechsle demnächst zu Ubuntu (mom. Debian/sarge). Ich hab auch ne Nvidia GK, muss also das auch noch einrichten.
Gibt es eigentlich Probleme mit dem Installer von nvidia.com? Ich frage das, weil viele hier die Methode per nvidia-glx gewählt haben.
Habe das beim Sarge auch so gemacht, doch ist das etwas doof, wenn man später einen neuen Kernel bäckt. Ich würde dieses Mal also lieber den Installer von nvidia.com nehmen.
Was denkt ihr, von den 2 versch. Methoden?

per apt ist natürlich einfacher und funktioniert auch soweit super.

Der NVIDIA Installer funktioniert auch wunderbar, sofern du die linux-headers und linux-source installiert hast und dem installer sagst, so die sind.

ich dachte die findet er selber?

also ich installiere linux-kernel-headers (linux-sources fand ich nicht)
und mache dann sh NVIDIA....

vielen dank.

das Beste wird sein, wenn ich es einfach ausprobiere. und ja die methode per apt kenn ich ja ☺

naja zuerst alle daten sichern und dann die ganze festplatte formatieren. naja die cds von ubuntu sind eh noch nicht angekommen. hab noch etwas zeit.

(argh das datensichern mit cdrw 4x dauert jahre ☺ )
