ich möchte meine USB-HDDs mittels S.M.A.R.T. überprüfen, und bei Auffälligkeiten eine Warnung bekommen. Dafür wollte ich https://www.smartmontools.org/ verwenden.
Hier werden USB-Geräte/Adapter aufgelistet, die funktionieren sollten:

Ich habe folgende ID:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0bc2:231a Seagate RSS LLC Expansion Portable
Die ID ist auf der Liste enthalten:

Jedoch entspricht die Beschreibung nicht meinem Model, ich gehe aber davon aus, das die tatsächliche Festplatte keine Rolle spielt, wenn dem nicht so ist, korrigiert mich bitte.
Wenn ich jetzt Versuche die S.M.A.R.T.-Werte auszulesen bekomme ich Fehlermeldungen:

Unter Windows funktioniert das auslesen der S.M.A.R.T.-Werte ohne Probleme. Für den Test wurde genau der gleiche PC mit gleichem Kabel und USB-Anschluss verwendet. Mit einer sehr alten Version(3.16.2) von gnome-disk-utility klappt das Auslesen auch.
Mache ich noch irgendwas falsch?
Was kann ich noch probieren um die S.M.A.R.T.-Werte auslesen zu können?
