Hi,
I've never been in this subforum, I am no Ubuntu developer and I'm not even very savvy in tweaking my system, but I guess this belongs here more than anywhere else: In my system, I have come across a problem that seems to be a bug in the kernel: I tried to do a little shell script using the command >sudo apt-get upgrade< with the >-y< option to avoid the prompt and automatically install available upgrades. That option does not seem to be implemented in my kernel - I got the message "Option invalid". I also tried all alternatives which are listed on the manpage which are the following:
-y< --yes< --assume-yes<
None of them worked and the message was always the same: "Option invalid". I don't know exactly which version my kernel is, so I post here the complete output concerning my system - I'm sure you can pick the bit on the kernel:
Linux fhofmann-desktop 2.6.27-14-generic #1 SMP Wed Apr 15 18:59:16 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
Can anybody tell me if that's a bug and if so, has it been fixed in the kernel used by Jaunty or whatever is the status of this? Thanks a lot! Regards,
Qbuntschuh
