Liebe Druckercracks Mein HP-Drucker (LaserJet 100 color MFP M175a) spukt unterm frisch aufgesetzten 18.04 etwas, präziser der Treiber bzw. die HP-Software hplip. Konkret erscheint nach jedem Reboot (aber nur dann) eine grafische Fehlermeldung (wegklickbar auf OK) des Inhalts hp-systray error: No system tray detected on this system. Unable to start, exiting. Es funktioniert sonst alles, sowohl der Drucker wie auch der zugehörige Scanner (das Gerät ist multifunktional). Ich erwähne noch Folgendes: Mit der per Default installierten hplip-Version hat der Scanner nicht funktioniert (der Drucker durchaus). Ich habe dann die neuste händisch darauf installiert (ein Script von HP mit detaillierten Anweisungen im Terminal, werden die HP-Besitzer hier kennen). Die Installation lief an sich sauber durch, soweit ich es noch in Erinnerung habe. Vielleicht kennt jemand Terminalabfragen zu hplip, um die Sache einzugrenzen? journalctl kennt folgende Fehlermeldungen mit HP-Bezug: journalctl -p 1

Dieses hp-systray Icon brauchst du nicht für die Funktion des Druckers. Wenn du den lästigen Starter loswerden willst: der versteckt sich im Verzeichnis

Ich hatte noch vergessen zu erwähnen, dass am System ein zweiter HP-Drucker hängt, ein uralter HP Laserjet 1010. Dieser Notfalldrucker funktioniert einwandfrei. Ob sich die beiden in die Haare bekommen? Die wenigen Fehlermeldungen könnten darauf hinweisen, aber ich weiss nicht, was da wirklich das Problem wäre. Lg X.

Mit der Version aus den Paketquellen ging der Scanner nicht (siehe erstes Posting). Ansonsten hast Du natürlich recht. Das sollte nicht doppelt sein -rw-r----- 1 root lp 102K Mai 7 23:58 /etc/cups/ppd/HP_LaserJet_100_colorMFP_M175a.ppd

Lieber Kellerkind_2009 Zwischenmeldung: 1) Das Problem besteht weiterhin. 2) Ich kann jetzt überhaupt nicht mehr drucken. 3) Es ist "irgendwie" weiterhin zweimal derselbe Drucker installiert. Was tun? Danke für Deine Hilfe!

Das hatte ich mir gedacht 😉 warning: One or more print queues already exist for this device: HP-LaserJet-100-colorMFP-M175a, HP_LaserJet_100_colorMFP_M175a. Du hast so eine Art "Mixtur" beider Versionen von HPLIP drauf.Wenn du die aus den Quellen nicht vollständig deinstalliert hast und die Neue Version als .run Installiert hast,kann das Passieren.Mein Vorschlag,komplett hplip entfernen,dann sauber Installieren. P.s. Das mit dem Scanner habe ich nicht übersehen ☺

Tipp,so würde ich es machen sudo apt-get purge hplip hplip-data hpijs libhpmud0 libsane-hpaio printer-driver-hpcups ## das über Paketverwaltung
sudo python /Pfad zur/hplip/hplip-3.18.4/uninstall.py ## das bei .run Installation
sudo rm -r /etc/hp
sudo rm -r /var/lib/hp
sudo rm -r /usr/share/hplip
rm -r ~/.hplip Kontrolle mit sudo locate hplip

Ja, Du bist ihm auf der Spur. Ich habe jetzt zunächst die ältere Version von hplip aus den Paketque weggehauen mit: sudo apt-get purge hplip was auslöste
