Laut webseite https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index sollte mein neuer Multifunktions-Drucker unter Ubuntu 18.04 funktionieren. Leider wird kein Scanner gefunden. Ich habe hplip v3.19.10 installiert, in der CUPS-Druckerverwaltung den Drucker am USB-Stecker installiert. Danach habe ich im Terminal hp-setup aufgerufen. Es wird kein scanner gefunden, übrigens auch kein Drucker. Starten von xsane oder simple-scan: sagt auch, dass kein scanner auffindbar ist. Ich habe noch einige Kommandos eingegeben, um den Status und die Problemursache zu erkennen. Jetzt bin ich verwirrt und weiß nicht, wie ich systematisch vorgehen sollte. 1) Hat es schon jemand geschafft, vom Scanner des HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M281fdw zB mit Simple Scan eine Seite zu scannen? 2) Was sollte ich als nächstes tun?

Du hast das Installierte HP vorher nicht entfernt gehabt ii hplip 3.17.10+repack0-5 amd64 HP Linux Printing and Imaging System (HPLIP)
ii hplip-data 3.17.10+repack0-5 all HP Linux Printing and Imaging - data files Nun hast du zwei Unterschiedliche Versionen drauf,die sich nicht Vertragen.Entferne alles von HP – und zwar Vollständig. Dann bleibt dir danach nur die .run,weil du mindestens 3.18.5 brauchst.Die in den Paketquellen ist zu alt.

Seltsam, ich wurde bei der (automat.) Installation der neuen hplip gefragt, ob das alte hplip entfernt werden soll. Mit welchem Kommando entferne ich nun sicher alle hplips? wie verifiziere ich das? Danach werde ich nochmal hplip 3.19.10 installieren.

Bei mir wurden 2 Passwörter abgefragt. Da ich Superuser Rechte habe, habe ich mein Passwort 2 mal eingetippt. Neuer Versuch:
Jetzt habe ich bei der Aufforderung "ENTER USER PASSWORD" einfach gewartet. Nach einer Minute erscheint dann die Aufforderung: Please enter the sudoer (jjm19)'s password: Ich tippe es ein und sofort bricht das Script mit den gehabten Meldungen ab: Traceback (most recent call last):

Hallo jolexin, bitte versteh mich nicht falsch - aber meistens ist der Fehler ca. 70cm vor dem Bildschirm zu suchen... In Deinem ersten Zitat sehe ich keine zwei Passwortabfragen - nur die eine. Auch wenn Du Superuser Rechte hast, musst Du Dein Passwort nur einmal angeben: Beim root (Superuser) entsprechend das Root-PW und bei Deinem Benutzer das Benutzer-PW. Zweimal angeben kann da nur scheitern. Zeig doch mal die genaue Ausgabe der zwei Abfragen, wenn Du nicht weiter kommst. HTH schollsky P.S. Wenn Du den Treiber systemweit installieren möchtest, empfehle ich folgenden Befehl (aus dem Verzeichnis, wo der Treiber liegt): sudo ./hplip-3.19.10.run

Für mich gerne nochmal dpkg -l | egrep HP id sudo updatedb && locate uninstall.py P.s. Bitte das Setup (hplip-3.19.10.run) nicht mit sudo ausführen! Das Passwort wird später abgefragt!

Scheinbar gibt es doch irgendwelche Reste der hplip Altversion 3.17.10. Ich dachte, die hätte ich mit "apt purge" weggebürstet! Leider versteh ich nicht, was mir die Ausgabe sagen soll und aus "man dpkg" werd ich nicht schlau. Sind libhpmud0, libsane-hpaio,printer-driver-hpcups Paketnamen? Wie vernichte ich die? Und was ist mit printer-driver-pnm2ppa, printer-driver-pxljr? Soll ich die auch vernichten? Zweitens

Ich vermute, dass ich mir meinen vergeblichen Installationsversuchen einen undefinierten Paketstatus erzeugt habe. Kann ich mit

wieder einen jungfräulichen Zustand erreichen? Wie kann ich das prüfen? Erst dann sollte ich hplip-3.19.10.run wiederholenn, ja?

Ich würde jetzt so vorgehen.Füge dich zur Gruppe lp hinzu sudo adduser $USER lp Dann die HP Version 3.19.10 ebenfalls löschen sudo python /home/jjm19/bin/hplip-3.19.10/uninstall.py den Rest aus der Paketverwaltung auch noch sudo apt purge libsane-hpaio Wenn das alles Fehlerfrei durch läuft -Neustart. Danach erst mal sudo apt-get -f install && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Wenn das Fehlerfrei durch gelaufen ist,dann das Setup von HP starten im Ordner mit sh hplip-3.19.10-plugin.run

*** Es ist immer noch kein Scanner zu erkennen!*** Unverständlich sind für mich bei der check-Ausgabe die Warnungen in Zeilen 205, 214, 224! Sind die für mein Scannerproblem von Bedeutung? Unmittelbar davor steht doch jeweils, dass der Drucker läuft - siehe z.B. Zeilen 198-204. Mit dem Befehl hp-setup finde ich auch keinen Scanner. Habe dann noch von https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/plugins das script hplip-3.19.10-plugin.run heruntergeladen und ausgeführt: 1
