funktioniert das unter Intrepid überhaupt noch so, wegen dem selbstkonfigurierenden X-Server. Das ist die xorg.conf ja nicht mehr wirklich nötig...

Ich hab für Intrepid einfach wieder meine alte xorg.conf für 2 Xserver von Gutsy genommen und es funktioniert einwandfrei. Das neue Problem ist ja, eine xorg.conf in der was drinsteht als Ausgangspunkt zu bekommen. Aber "NVIDIA X Server Settings" schreibt ja z.B. noch eine xorg.conf mit den Einstellungen. Das wär eine Möglichkeit für Nvidia-Karten-Besitzer. sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg könnte man auch mal ausprobieren. So viel Ahnung hab ich allerdings auch nicht von der Problematik, dass ich jetzt einfach in den Artikel schreiben würde, man soll sich ne old-style xorg-conf machen... |

Im wiki-Artikel zum Thema DualView http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Dualview wird für alte Ubuntu-Versionen noch erklärt, wie man zwei Bildschirme mit jeweils einem XServer konfiguriert. Für aktuelle Versionen fehlt eine solche Erklärung, da nur auf RandR verwiesen wird und dieser stets zwei Bildschirme zu einem großen zusammenklebt. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn jemand dort erklären könnte, wie man auch unter aktuellen Versionen getrennte XServer einrichten kann (falls das geht - ich kenne mich nicht aus). was bei dem Artikel etwas unglücklich ist: All die "alten" Methoden funktionieren immer noch. Nur seit 7.10 gibt es mit RandR ein besseres Tool. |

Wenn RandR keine zwei XServer "kann", können wir den Teil nicht einfach unter "bis Feisty" belassen. Dosenelepfand, wieso probierst du nicht einfach den Abschnitt unter "bis Feisty" und evtl. meine Vorschläge oben und berichtest dann, ob das noch funktioniert? Wenn ich "Screen 0" und "Screen 1" eintrage, startet der X-Server nicht mehr. Anderenfalls startet er, jedoch habe ich dann zwei synchronisierte Bildschirme, wobei der Externe Monitor flackert und sehr unscharf ist. Für den Fall, dass ich die Screen 0 und Screen 1 Optionen hinzunehme, ist es unerheblich, ob ich intel oder den älteren i810 als Treiber wähle. Hallo, funktioniert nicht unter GNOME "System → Einstellungen → Bildschirmauflösung"? Bei mir funktioniert das jedenfalls 1A, wenn ich mal einen Beamer an den 2. Monitorausgang hänge. Ohne Änderungen an der xorg.conf. Gruß, noisefloor |

Ich wurde gerade von einem User auf den Artikel aufmerksam gemacht. Und da scheint ja einiges an dem Artikel nicht mehr zu stimmen. Zum Beispiel ist meines Wissens nach TwinView NVIDIA's proprietäre Xinerama Implementierung und hat nichts mit MergedFB zu tun. Ganz wichtig dabei die Einleitung, die seit Gutsy auf RandR verweist 😉 Irgendjemand der sich mit der Materie gutegenug auskennt, oder ist der Artikel ein Kandidat zur Archivierung (wenn Dapper ausläuft - Juni). Wenn letzteres, dann müsste das getested General auf getestet Dapper geändert werden. |

Ich hätte hier noch ne Problemlösung anzubieten 😉 Es geht um das Problem, wenn man einen großen Desktop laufen hat und dann eine Vollbildanwendung startet. Manche Programme wollen dann nicht laufen bzw. werden falsch angezeigt. Hier hilft es einen seperaten XServer laufen zu lassen mit eigener xorg.conf. Steht im Prinzip schon hier: Eigener XServer für Spiele (Abschnitt „Eigene-xorg-conf“). Könnte das jemand noch ergänzen? Danke |
