Ich habe soweit mein Faxgerät eingerichtet (Brother MFC-J265w) Nun möchte ich noch als letzte Option versuchen direkt von libre office aus zu faxen.

Im wiki ist ein entsprechender Hinweis:

OpenOffice.org / LibreOffice.org

Um per OpenOffice.org oder LibreOffice ein Fax zu versenden, muss die OpenOffice-eigene oder LibreOffice-eigene Druckerverwaltung ausgeführt werden und eine Faxanbindung eingerichtet werden. Daher führt man in einem Terminal [1] den folgenden Befehl aus:

/usr/lib/openoffice/program/spadmin  

oder für LibreOffice

/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/spadmin  

In der Druckerverwaltung nun eine Faxanbindung auswählen. Zuerst "Neuer Drucker..." anwählen und "Eine Faxlösung einbinden" anwählen - mit "weiter" zur nächsten Seite gelangen - und den Standardtreiber auswählen. Nachdem dieser mit "Weiter" hinterlegt wurde als Befehlszeile folgendes einfügen:

/usr/bin/brpcfax -P BRFAX -o Paper=A4 -o fax-number="(PHONE)" "(TMP)" 

Für die Faxanbindung einen aussagekräftigen Namen (z.B. Brother Fax) verwenden und ansonsten keine Änderungen vornehmen. Mit "Fertig" werden die Änderungen übernommen.

Um in OpenOffice.org oder LibreOffice die Funktion nutzen zu können hier unter "Datei -> Drucken..." im Feld "Name" die Faxlösung unter dem eben gewählten Namen auswählen und mit "OK" auswählen. Im nächsten Programmfenster die Fax-Nummer eingeben. Nachdem dies mit "OK" bestätigt wurde wird das Fax versendet.

Hat bei mir nur leider nicht funktioniert, da die Datei /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/spadmin nicht vorhanden ist.

Das hat "leider" nur insoweit geholfen das ich nun schonmal ein Symbol zum faxen habe, was prinzipiell schonmal nicht schlecht ist.

Weiß da jemand weiter, hat sich ev. etwas geändert, da das wiki mit Sicherheit nicht neu ist (Version, Ubuntu und libre.office)

Wenn nicht ist das kein Weltuntergang, dann muss ich halt ins pdf Format vorher umwandeln.

1. LibreOffice beenden.

2. Ergänze die Datei /usr/lib/libreoffice/share/psprint/psprint.conf um folgende Zeilen:

Command=brpcfax
QuickCommand=brpcfax

3. LibreOffice (Writer) starten. einen beliebigen Text eintippen ->Datei ->Drucken → im Auswahlfeld Drucker den neuen "Brother Fax" auswählen → <OK-Button> Danach erscheint die GUI zur Eingabe der Zielrufnummer.

Ist nach wie vor das selbe geblieben beim Ausführen, rührt sich nichts. Das Kommando brpcfax wird nicht ausgeführt. Oben steht Druckvorgang wird gestartet, fertig ohne Ergebnis und Reaktion

Ja, Herzekind, das ist fast richtig - aber warum muss man dann nicht den BRFAX, sondern den Brother Fax auswählen?

Wenn man hier ALLES erklären müsste, würde ubuntuusers nen extra Server in der Mongolei benötigen. Und Herzekind, dann wäre wahrscheinlich hier schon schluss für Dich. Es läuft. Jetzt mach nen Punkt, Bubilein Aber was du mit FAST richtig meinst würde mich noch interessieren, Dr. Fax.
