Hallo, ich habe schon in der Wiki-Seite https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Scanner/Brother versucht, ob ich den Fehler selbst finde. Leider vergebens. Ich muss Euch deshalb um Hilfe bitten. Das Brothergerät ist für WLAN , die genaue Bezeichnung ist Brother DCP-J562DW . Der Scanner ist leider nicht funktionstüchtig.
Fehlerbeschreibung: Mit GIMP und Erstellen wird der Scanner gefunden, Ich klicke in dem Vorschaudialog auf die Schaltfläche Vorschauscan. Die Vorschau erscheint, aber nicht vollständig. Gleichzeitig erscheint eine Fehlermeldung mit dem folgenden Text: Fehler bei Farbkonvertierung: Fehler beim Öffnen von Scanner ICN-Profil:
Diese Fehlermeldung kann ich schon wegklicken, aber mit der unvollständigen Vorschau kann ich nicht scannen.

Soweit normal.Zeige nun dpkg -l colord* Füge dich zur Gruppe lp hinzu mit sudo adduser $USER lp Neustart. Scanner danach wieder Testen und mal nach logs suchen cat /var/log/syslog | egrep -i 'net|ICN|err|brother'

Ich habe Neustart gemacht und den Scanner getestet. Leider noch keinen Erfolg, denn die Vorschau ist nach wie vor nicht vollständig und die schon erwähnte Fehlermeldung musste ich mehrmals wegklicken. nach logs suchen

Ich habe es nach diesem Link installiert: eu as&os=128&flang=English .
Der Link funktioniert aber jetzt gar nicht mehr. Vielleicht habe ich mich auch vertippt, denn ich habe es hier nur abgeschrieben. Ich war dann im Terminal in den Ordner Downloads gewechselt. Hier hatte ich dann das Paket gunzip linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.0-1.gz entpackt. Dann ging es weiter mit sudo bash linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.0-1 . Gruß Wolfgang

hmm, weiß nicht ob es weiter hilft - aber ich hab gerade eben nach meinem HowTo einen MFC 5890CN installiert und das hat problemlos funktioniert. Unter /etc/udev/rules.d/ wird bei mir allerdings keine 50-brother-… angelegt, sondern eine 60-brother-… → wie gesagt, k.A. ob euch das weiterhilft, ist mir nur eben aufgefallen

Das ist definitiv nicht richtig so 😉 Mal sehen ob es reicht die Falschen zu löschen. sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/50-brother-brscan4-libsane-type1.rules
sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/50-brother-libsane-type1-inst.rules Danach noch mal Testen.
