Hallo Ubuntu-Gemeinde,

ich habe auf einem Dell Latitude 5490 Ubuntu 20.4 installiert. Nach dem Booten des Notebooks erscheint oft am unteren Rand des Displays ein flimmernder Streifen. Manchmal bleibt der schmal und ich kann mit dem Rechner arbeiten. Oft aber steigt er nach oben und dann wird das Display schwarz. Manchmal bleibt es auch gleich nach dem Booten schwarz, obwohl Ubuntu startet (ich höre den Start-Jingle).

Das scheint ein Problem des Graphiktreibers zu sein. Es taucht unter Gnome und Cinnamon auf. Unter Ubuntu 18.4 (von externer Festplatte per USB gestartet) gibt es das Problem nicht. Auch nicht unter Knoppix und MX-21. Der Selbsttest des Notebooks stellt auch bei der Graphik keine Fehler fest. Hat jemand eine Idee, wie man das fixen kann?

Ich glaube dein Thema ist dort auch besser aufgehoben.

Im Live-System taucht das Problem nicht auf !

Das ist eine Grundlage.

Danach überlegst Du Dir, ob Du nicht besser 21.10 installierst. Nicht nur, weil Du einen Kaby Lake Refresh und UHD 620 hast, aber eben auch.
