Hallo, Nach dem Upgrade von 17.04 auf 17.10 funktioniert die graphische Abmeldung nicht mehr ... ein Teil der laufenden Anwendungen verschwindet vom Schirm, und dann friert innerhalb Sekunden alles ein ... nichts lässt sich mehr bewegen. Ein kurzes Betätigen der Power-Taste fährt den PC dann ganz runter. Hm, was ist da denn los? P.S.: Ich verwende weiterhin die Unity-Umgebung via Anmelde-Schirm (via Zahnrad-Symbol). |

Das geht! Bevor Missverständnisse aufkommen, das graphische "Herunterfahren" geht einwandfrei, nur das "Abmelden" bleibt hängen. Ich hatte mich jetzt mal in GNOME angemeldet, erfolgreich wieder abgemeldet, und dann noch mal in Unity angemeldet. Dann ging das Abmelden auf einmal, aber beim 2. mal wieder nicht mehr. Dafür bekomme ich jetzt regelmäßig die Meldung: Die gespeicherte Bildschirmkonfiguration konnte nicht angewendet werden. required virtual size does not fit available size: requested=(1,1), minimum=(8,8), maximum=(16384,16384) Scheint ganz schön der Wurm hier drin zu sein. |

Ja, wer lesen kann ist im Vorteil. 😢 dpkg -l | egrep -v '^ii' lspci -nnk | grep -A3 "\[03..\]:" und dkms status nur interessant falls Nvidia-Karte verbaut mit unfreien Treiber. dpkg -l | grep compiz Falls Compiz installiert ist. Nacheinander abarbeiten. rm -r ~/.cache/compizconfig-1 rm -r ~/.compiz rm -r ~/.config/compiz-1 Bitte Testuser anlegen um zu über prüfen ob im $HOME der Fehler liegt oder im System. Nebenbei gesagt Unity und Gnome3 zusammen auf dem Rechner ist keine gute Idee. Die beißen sich oft. Gruß Taomon |

Ja erstmal sorry, dass ich mich erst jetzt wieder melde. Der betreffende Rechner war nämlich da schon wieder bei seiner Besitzerin. In 2..4 Wochen werde ich ihn wieder haben, dann kann ich noch mal gucken. Wahrscheinlich werde ich mich aber ziemlich schnell zu einer Neuinstallation von 18.04 entschließen, aber ich man kann des Lernens wegen vorher ja noch mal was probieren. Nun stelle ich bei einem anderen Rechner, der sich auch "von selbst" auf 17.10 aktualisiert hat, die Meldung mit der Bildschirmkonfiguration fest, allerdings mit anderen Werten: requested=(1,1), minimum=(320,200), maximum=(8192,8192) Das ist allerdings ein 32-Bit-Ubuntu und der Fehler mit dem Abmelden taucht da auch nicht auf. Also mache ich jetzt damit mal das von Dir vorgeschlagene Prozedere. Vielleicht finden wir ja was. dpkg -l | egrep -v '^ii' Gewünscht=Unbekannt/Installieren/R=Entfernen/P=Vollständig Löschen/Halten

Getan, und dann mal gucken, ob's was gebracht hat.
Probiere ich, wenn's nichts gebracht hat.
Ich bin da unschuldig, will sagen, dass mir GNOME seit 17.10 aufgezwungen wird. GNOME einfach zu deinstallieren hatte ich bisher nicht gewagt, wer weiß was dann noch funktioniert. Abgesehen davon wüsste ich auch nicht, wie ich das genau tun müsste, und auch nach einer Neuinstallation von 18.04 werde ich wieder das gleiche Problem haben, wenn ich mir ubuntu-unity-desktop dazu installieren möchte. |

dkms status Hier ist jetzt keine nVidia-Karte verbaut, in dem ursprünglichen Rechner dieses Threads ist allerdings eine. Dabei hatte ich den freien und den neueren der unfreien Treiber getestet. Bei beiden tauchte das Problem auf.
Hat leider nichts genutzt.
Beim Testuser taucht das Problem (hier nur die Meldung mit der Bildschirmkonfiguration) nicht auf. |

Das ist natürlich nur auf dem 64-Bit-System eine Lösung. Auf dem 32er muss ich dann vermutlich zurück auf 16.04.

Da es bei Dir nur Deinen normalen User betrifft und nicht den Test-User könnte der Fehler in ~/.config/monitors.xml liegen. Aber leider habe ich nicht die geringste Ahnung was da drin stehen sollte. einfach mal beim Test-User spicken. Gruß Taomon |

Gute Idee! Aber leider gibt es auf dem Test-User keine monitors.xml. Meinst Du ich könnte es deshalb einfach mal riskieren, im normalen User diese Datei zu löschen? EDIT: Und jetzt schwant mir so langsam ein Zusammenhang, nämlich mit dem Problem: symbole-doppelt-auf-dem-desktop Auf dem normalen User, und auf einem anderen Rechner, wo letzteres Problem auftaucht, hatte ich nämlich mal einen externen Monitor angeschlossen und da dieser jeweils links vom Laptop stand hatte ich dann die rechts/links-Reihenfolge vertauscht und seit dem besteht das doppelte-Symbole-Problem. Kann es sein, dass die monitors.xml erst bei Anschließen eines externen Monitors überhaupt erzeugt wird? |

Yep, das kleinere Problem ist nun weg. Ob damit auch das eigentliche Problem "Abmelden geht nicht mehr" und evtl. auch "symbole-doppelt-auf-dem-desktop" gelöst sind, werde ich dann sicher auch bald erfahren. Danke Taomon für die heiße Spur 👍 Siehe auch oben mein EDIT. Bei Gelegenheit werde ich dann auch mal untersuchen, was da beim Anschließen eines externen Monitors und dem Seitentausch schief geht. Wird bestimmt ein neuer Beitrag im Forum. |
