Hallo,

ich habe seit laengerer Zeit ein chinesisches Ultrabook mit Celeron N3450 und Intel HD500. Hat mehrere Ubuntu-updates und Jahre problemlos funktioniert. Seit einiger Zeit (irgendein Update?) geht glxgears/Video abspielen/Spielen nicht mehr, sprich OpenGL funktioniert nicht mehr. Beim Start der Appplikation steigt der RAM Use an bis entweder der Prozess abegschossen wird oder sich das OS aufhaengt.

Habe auch nach laengerer Suche keine weitere Idee. Kann mir jemand einen Tipp geben?

Du könntest den X Treiber wechseln. Der intel X Treiber ist ein kaum gepflegtes Wrack, weshalb Canonical schon seit Jahren für Intel Chips lieber zum generischen modesetting X Treiber greift.

Bei der Gelegenheit würde ich auch gleich die VideoRam Zeile löschen, die hat ohnehin nicht den Effekt den du ihr zuschreibst und wird dir im Zweifelsfall nur Probleme bereiten. Wie du glxinfo entnehmen kannst nutzt der Grafikchip trotzdem 3 GiB RAM als Grafikspeicher.

Danke fuer den Hinweis, VideoSize usw. hatte ich nur testweise drin.

Hab auf "modesetting" gewechselt → gleiches Fehlerbild, keine Veraenderung.
