Hallo,

ich habe einen HP-Drucker der unter 16.04 einwandfrei funktioniert hat und auch unter einem 18.04 Live-System direkt erkannt wurde und funktioniert. Auf meinem System, dass ich von 16.04 auf 18.04 aktualisiert habe, kann ich ihm eine Testseite entlocken. Das Drucken eines Dokuments funktioniert jedoch nicht (es kommen anscheinend keine Daten/Befehle am Drucker an), obwohl hplip "print job has completed" meldet.

Das Problem scheint also durch die Aktualisierung auf 18.04 entstanden zu sein.

sudo apt-get purge hplip
sudo apt-get install hplip

hat nicht weitergeholfen. Ebenso hat es nicht geholfen, den Drucker über die Einstellungen zu löschen und neu hinzuzufügen. Wo könnte das Problem liegen? Gibt es eine einfache Möglichkeit, alle Druckerkonfigurationen zu entfernen, sodass der Zustand so ist, wie bei einem frisch installierten 18.04?

Danke für den Hinweis. Die Befehle haben darauf hingedeutet, dass parallel zur Version aus der Paketverwaltung noch eine manuelle Installation vorhanden war, vermutlich habe ich irgendwann hplip mal manuell. installiert. Ich habe es nicht behoben gekriegt und das Problem letztlich nur verschlimmert. Habe jetzt Bionic noch einmal komplett neu installiert, das war zeitsparender als die Fehlersuche.

Mein Problem ist ähnlich, ich bekomme aber nicht mal die Testseite ausgedruckt.

Soweit ich das verstehe, wurden keine Fehler mehr gefunden. Der Drucker druckt aber trotzdem nicht.

Gibt es eine andere Abhilfe als die Neuinstallation?

Neuinstallation hat wie erwartet (da Drucken bei Booten des USB-Sticks im Live-Modus funktioniert hat) das Problem gelöst. Ich empfehle dir aber einen neuen Thread für dein Problem aufzumachen, da dieses Thema hier schon als gelöst markiert ist und daher vermutlich übersehen wird.

Ich hab den Thread zwar wieder auf "ungelöst" gestellt, hab mir das mit dem neuen Thread auch schon überlegt und werd das jetzt machen und auf deinen Thread verweisen, wenn ich das hinbekomme.

Ich hatte seit Tagen das selbe Problem und habe es nun mithilfe von https://askubuntu.com/questions/1080720/printer-filter-failed/1080926#1080926 gelöst.

Der Fehler lag (zumindest bei mir) nicht an hplip, sondern an fehlenden ICC-Profilen in ghostscript nach dem Upgrade auf 18.04.

Die Lösung ist, den Ordner /usr/share/ghostscript/9.25/iccprofiles zu löschen und libgs9-common neu zu installieren:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgs9-common

Nach einem Reboot (vmtl. reicht es auch cups neu zu starten, aber in Zeiten von SSDs war ich dazu zu faul) war es dann wieder möglich zu drucken.
