Hallo,
ich habe seit geraumer zeit die beat von firefox 3 über synaptic installiert (schnellstart in symbolleiste vorhanden).
nun habe ich mir von mozilla den offiziellen release geladen, entpackt und das shell skript gestartet. wunderbar firefox 3 läuft.
doch nun will ich ja nicht immer in den ordner navigieren um dort das shell skript aufzurufen, was ja auch noch zusätzlich mit bestätigung erfolgen muss.
vielmehr hätte ich gerne firefox als schnellstart symbol in der systemleiste.
momentan liegt auch der extrahierte ordner aus dem ich starte auf dem desktop. wohin kopiere ich programmverzeichnisse generell?

Dann bekommst du den aktuellen FF über die Quellen, sprich Updates.

in synaptic bekomme ich folgende version als die neueste
3.0 b4+nobinonly-0ubuntu gutsy
diese besagte beta habe ich schon drauf.

ich habe gestern ein ditri update gefahren. jetzt sehe ich in der sources list noch die ganzen gutsy eintragen.
müssen die auf hardy umgestellt werde?

Ja sicher. Verstehe aber nicht, warum das nicht automatisch umgestellt wurde.

wenn ich jedoch in synaptic auf paketquellen gehe und dort auf den reiter "aktualisierungen" sind nach wie vor nur gutsy aktualisierungen zu sehen

an den quellen hat sich nichts geändert
ok, aber

da will er mir erneut 480 mb runterladen. habe ich ja bereits gestern beim distribution update auf 8.04
