Mein ursprüngliches Problem scheint gelöst.
Ich habe gestartet und per grub-console
den Kernel-Parameter vga=0x0348 gesetzt.
Dann war die gewünschte Auflösung da.
Super!
Ich weiss nicht wieso dieser Parameter nicht
gesetzt war, so sah meine menu.lst vorher aus:

Und jetzt habe ich direkt beim Eintrag fuer Hardy
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic root=UUID=5464fe0d-7dad-45de-9e92-e70e5e8c9417 ro nosplash vga=0x0348
die Parameter mit rein geschrieben. Jetzt läuft es.
Ja, ich habe immer update-grub (nicht nur einmal) gemacht.
Ich weiss nicht wieso die Einträge bei defoptions nicht
mit angehängt wurden?????????????????????????
Und was mir noch viel schleierhafter ist, ist das mit dem
hwinfo --framebuffer – also das da der Monitor ausgeht.
Aber das is mir jetzt egal. Wenn ich das wieder mal brauche,
dann leite ich eben in ne Datei um.
